LED Indy Wins Midstream Master Award from AES Indiana
LED Indy was honored by AES Indiana for its outstanding energy-efficient contributions to customers across Central Indiana.
Trace Clifford, Founder and President of LED Indy, says he started the company ten years ago after a career in the financial services field. “There was something more for me out there.” The company, which specializes in finding energy-efficient solutions for businesses, uses the latest industry tools and devices to maximize a building’s energy use and consumption.
Clifford says it’s rewarding to help small business owners save on their electric bills. Those savings give the owners more money to invest back into their companies. Along with saving on an electric bill, Clifford says finding energy-efficient solutions also saves on maintenance fees.
Along with several schools and churches in the area, LED Lighting has also worked with the Indianapolis Colts to find energy-efficient solutions for their practice facility on the northwest side of Indianapolis.
John Melind, the COO of LED Lighting, says there has been a resurgence in customers looking to use LED lights in their buildings. From Eli Lilly to food manufacturing factories, Melind says he’s visited many different types of buildings to find the right lighting solutions. He says there is a “huge opportunity for savings by switching to LED.”
Melind says LED lights use 50-75% less power and could cut a small business’s electric bill by up to 20%. He says most customers make their money back within two to five years.
