WE HAVE A WINNER IN THE I LOVE TO READ CHALLENGE!

Congratulations to this year’s winner of the I Love to Read Challenge, Mrs. Sharon Ashmore’s 3rd grade class from Columbus Christian School! Mrs. Ashmore’s class read an incredible 58725 minutes in the final week! WISH-TV is proud to partner with the NCAA Readers Become Leaders program and Rascal’s Fun Zone again this year to encourage a love of reading in third-graders to help them transition from “learning to read” to “reading to learn.”  This was an especially competitive contest, and all the students should be VERY proud.  THANK YOU to all the classes that participated!

See the winning moment!

The I Love to Read Challenge encourages safe competition among classrooms with a focus on both personal effort and collaborative achievement. Classrooms advancing to certain levels within the bracket may receive prizes either for the classroom, as a whole, and/or for each individual student from Rascal’s Fun Zone and other program sponsors. The winning classroom will receive a trophy, an exclusive class pizza party celebration with special guests from WISH-TV and program sponsors, and additional prizes from Rascal’s Fun Zone and Teacher’s Treasures, other program sponsors.

I Love to Read is open to third-grade classrooms in the following WISH-TV viewing area counties: Bartholomew, Boone, Brown, Clinton, Decatur, Delaware, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, Owen, Putnam, Rush, Shelby, and Tipton.
