During the recent NFL Combine, sports technology leaders from around the world gathered in Indianapolis to showcase new devices and software designed to make life easier for athletes.

Emil Ekiyor, the founder of InnoPower, says he’s excited to see activations during events like the NFL Combine. These activations showcase what’s happening in sports tech, and he says they’re helping to put Indianapolis on the map in the community.

Ekiyor says recent advancements in sports technology are “all about the athlete.” Tech founders are working with former and current athletes to build the best devices and technology. “There’s no other city that can do this.” With improvements to sports technology, Ekiyor says there’s no better time to be an athlete.

Kim Brouzes, the CEO of Kinmetrix, a Canadian company that uses robotics and sensors to strengthen neck muscles, says she showcased her new device to NFL teams during the combine. Her device collects data and builds a custom program that allows athletes to strengthen their necks.

Richard Felton-Thomas, the COO and Director of Sports Science for ai.io, says his UK-based company uses AI and computer vision to allow athletes to analyze themselves using a mobile phone. He says it’s as simple as downloading an app and analyzing your movements. “The sports tech ecosystem has been great.”
