Your CPA May Need to File an Extension This Tax Season
As tax season continues, many CPAs may have to file an extension for small business owners.
Courtney Kincaid, the President and CEO of the Indiana CPA Society, says a busy legislative session could mean your CPA may have to wait for clarity on new tax laws and regulations.
According to Kincaid, filing an extension does not mean your CPA is too busy or doesn’t know what they are doing. She says it’s all about waiting for new compliance regulations to be handed down.
When it comes to filing an extension, Kincaid says it’s best to be proactive and stay on top of tax
compliance.
In addition, Kincaid says it’s important to understand the risks presented by using new tools and technology in your small business. She says cyber security should stay top of mind, and small business owners need to understand how AI can impact their sensitive data.
