Last week, more than one thousand Central Indiana business and community leaders gathered to celebrate the 2025 Champions of Diversity.  

Heading into its 18th year, the Champions of Diversity ceremony honors people and organizations who advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in business and the community.  

When speaking on diversity efforts in business, Patrina WIlliams, the CEO of Cherishing Lives Personal Care Service, said, “We’re changing lives in our community.” Williams also received the Golden Heart Award during the ceremony.  

Tamara Cypress, the Associate Director of Communications for Carrier Corporation, says equity and inclusion are “the essence of who we are and we strive to achieve every single day.” Looking towards the future of DEI in Indiana, she says to “find the advocates who want to be part of the journey.” 

Leon Williamson, the Market President of iHeartMedia Multiplatforms Group, says diversity has been under attack lately, and events like Champions of Diversity are important. “Everyone here is fighting for equality.”
