Using Artificial Intelligence in Security Cameras

AI video analytics are revolutionizing security and surveillance operations for major sporting events.

Dean Drako, the CEO of Eagle Eye Networks, a security technology company claiming to have “revolutionized the video surveillance industry by bringing it to the cloud,” says his company is pioneering artificial intelligence in security cameras.

Drako says before the implementation of AI, security cameras had to be constantly watched by human eyes, and even then, most problems could not be addressed until after something bad occurred. He says with the use of AI, cameras can automatically detect issues like fights, leaks, spills, and more and alert authorities immediately.  “It is a huge change in what the video surveillance system can do for a customer or for a business.”

In addition to helping businesses protect against losses, Drako says using AI in security cameras benefits the public. He says Eagle Eye Networks has already deployed over 30,000 cameras in Mexico to help local governments. The cameras can even detect weapons and guns, perhaps even an event attendee acting surreptitiously in a large crowd.

With major events like the Super Bowl, where large crowds gather in several places, Drako says using AI in security cameras will help detect problems before they get out of hand. He says the technology is in the early stages of deployment in the security industry. “The technology is quite real now.”
