New ProjectWill Location Brings Hope to Indianapolis Youth
ProjectWill has opened its newest Indianapolis location to help support youth with behavioral health challenges.
Jeannie Coleman-Miller, Board President for ProjectWill, says the organization’s newest location at 1010 Central Ave., “is definitely needed.” She says the new center will help Central Indiana youth make community connections and build valuable relationships.
ProjectWill helps challenged youth in critical transition periods in their life, like finding work after high school. Coleman-Miller says programming is aimed at helping youth build independent skills and vocational skills. She says the group settings are key to program success. “What happens with that group is magical.”
Coleman-Miller says the organization works hard to steer youth away from the criminal justice system and rehabilitate those already in it. “It’s going to fulfill a need in our community.” She says ProjectWill is working to change the system.
Coleman-Miller says ProjectWIll is also working with community partners to increase its vocational rehabilitation program. She says ProjectWill is working to advocate for more inclusive workspaces, and they also rely on non-profits and faith-based organizations to provide volunteer opportunities for those in need.
ProjectWill is hosting an employer information session on February 118th. Learn more at info@projectwill.org.
