Temperature swings and storm chances into midweek | Mar. 17, 2025

Mon evening forecast – Mar 17, 2025

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — After a winterlike gloomy Sunday with on and off wintry mix, we got to enjoy sunshine and warmer temps for our Monday.

We’ll look towards a quick burst of springlike temps into midweek before we undergo more pattern changes with rain, storm, and even winter precip chances.

Monday night: Mostly clear skies expected tonight with lows in the low 40s. Winds will also turn breezy again with gusts up to 20-25 MPH.

Tuesday: We’ll quickly flip back towards springlike weather for Tuesday with abundant sunshine and a breezy southerly wind. Highs look to push into the upper 60s to low 70s with winds gusting to 20-30 MPH at times. It will be a marvelous day for any outdoor activities.

Wednesday: Active weather is set to return after a picture perfect Tuesday. This next system will bring in scattered showers and storm chances Wednesday afternoon and night along with strong wind gusts.

There is also a threat for strong to severe storms Wednesday late afternoon and evening. A Slight Risk (level 2/5) is currently placed in the western half of Indiana. Damaging wind is the primary hazard at this time.

Highs will rise into the mid to upper 60s.

7-Day Forecast: Colder air wraps in Wednesday night into early Thursday. This will cause some spots to flip from rain to snow on Thursday morning. After another round of brief cold air, temperatures rebound to above average for Friday into the weekend. This weekend will feature smaller chances of rain.
