Original Story
A 21-year-old inmate from the Edinburgh Correctional Facility escaped from his work detail near Vallonia Tree Nursery, Jackson County officials say in a Wednesday news release.
Investigators are searching for Michael D. Anderson, a Black male who is 5 foot 8 inches tall, weighs 184 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. Anderson was last seen near the area of Starve Hollow.
Anderson was serving a three-year sentence in prison after being convicted of two counts of burglary in Lake County.
Anderson has multiple tattoos, including a rose tattoo on his right hand, a royal crown on his right arm, and the Chicago Bulls logo on his left leg. He was last seen wearing a yellow shirt, yellow pants, a Carhartt-style jacket, and an orange hat. He may be wearing long johns-style underwear instead of the yellow.
Investigators advise those living in the area to lock their doors, but they don’t think there is any threat to the public at this time.
If you see Anderson, call 911 immediately.
