Windy Wednesday, strong storms this afternoon | March 19, 2025
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Windy Wednesday with some showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Some of the thunderstorms could be on the stronger side. Another day with temperatures above normal but much colder conditions move into the state for your Thursday.
TODAY: A windy Wednesday. A wind advisory goes in place at 11:00 this morning and lasts until 8:00 p.m. for the majority of the state. Winds may gust times near 40 mph out of the south and southwest. It will be another mile day with temperatures about 10 to 15 degrees above normal. High temperatures climb into the mid ’60s .




Much of the day will be dry but the chance for some showers and thunderstorms will arrive after about 4:00. We are under a slight risk for strong thunderstorms. This is a level two out of a level 5 on our severe weather risk scale. All severe weather modes in play although the greatest chance for a tornado will be in Eastern Illinois in far western Indiana.

TONIGHT: Showers and thunderstorms continue through about the midnight hour. We’ll look for a partly to mostly cloudy sky with low temperatures falling into the ’30s.



TOMORROW: A few spotty rain or snow showers possible early in the day on your Thursday. No accumulation expected. Spring officially begins around 5 in the morning . It is going to be blustery and much colder. Winds will be still a bit breezy out of the west and northwest could gust upwards of 20 mph. Temperatures will only be into the lower 40s for the afternoon.




7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: We begin to see a warm up heading into your Friday. Temperature climb back up into the mid and upper ’50s. Partly cloudy skies for much of the day on Friday, a chance for a few showers late in the day .

First part of the weekend looks dry with temperatures in the lower 50s right around normal for this time of year on Saturday. On Sunday mostly cloudy skies a few scattered showers temperatures into the ’50s .
As we begin the new work week we will look for temperatures to drop back into the upper 40s with a partly cloudy sky.
