Emily Stewart: A fifth-generation farmer paving the way for Women’s History Month
BARGERSVILLE (WISH) – Emily Stewart, a fifth-generation farmer in Bargersville, is being highlighted for her contributions to agriculture as part of Women’s History Month.
Stewart has been involved in her family farm operations, which include beef, grain, and show hogs, and she is passionate about raising the next generation on the farm.
“I grew up on a dairy farm when I was younger and then we turned into basically beef and grain,” Stewart said.
“I do a lot of semi driving, a lot of ground working in the spring and I love standing beside my dad in the spring learning all that I can,” Stewart said.
“To be able to survive in the world we live in with a family farm and be able to raise the next generation here is very near and dear to my heart,” Stewart said.
Emily Stewart also runs a business called Dirt Darling, which includes photography and cleaning services.
“I’m a photographer and it’s all self-taught,” Stewart said.
“Also Dirt Darling has a second division and it’s a cleaning business,” Stewart said.
Stewart’s photography niche involves bringing people to experience the family farm.
“My niche in photography is bringing people here to experience the family farm,” Stewart said.
