INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Second Helpings, a nonprofit organization in Indianapolis, is hosting the Corks and Forks event next Tuesday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse to support its mission of rescuing food and preparing meals for the community.

Second Helpings prepares 6,000 meals a day using rescued food from grocery stores and catering companies, distributing these meals to various locations in the city.

The organization also offers a free culinary job training program, helping individuals gain valuable skills in the food industry.

“The number of people that need meals goes up and up, and sometimes the only meal someone gets is a meal that we made that day,” Laney Glick, Senior Kitchen Coordinator, explained.

The Corks and Forks event will feature over two dozen chefs, including some from Second Helpings, showcasing their culinary skills with a variety of dishes.

Attendees will enjoy unlimited drinks and bites, all for a good cause. Second Helpings takes pride in providing high-quality meals, not just random food items.
