Kyle Albertson uses FFA experience to launch drone business
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Kyle Albertson, an FFA alumnus and Purdue University graduate, shared his experiences on how FFA prepared him for a career in business despite having congenital muscular dystrophy.
Kyle Albertson has been living with congenital muscular dystrophy since he was nine months old.
Despite the challenges, he has always found ways to participate in activities with his friends, adapting to do things differently but effectively.
Kyle credits FFA with playing a significant role in his journey, providing camaraderie and support from peers. He joined FFA because many of his friends were involved, and it helped him build lasting friendships and connections.
Kyle has successfully started his own drone spraying business, Albertson Drone Service, which is Indiana’s first licensed drone spraying contractor.
His interest in drones began as a hobby in high school and evolved into a business that helps farmers apply pesticides in hard-to-reach areas.
The use of drones in agriculture is rapidly growing, and Kyle’s business has doubled its acreage every year since its inception.
He plans to take on a more supervisory role and has hired pilot interns from Purdue to support the expanding operations.
