Fever’s Kristy Wallace to sit out 2025 season
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Fever forward Kristy Wallace will not play in the 2025 WNBA season.
Her contract will be suspended and she is not eligible to return during the season. The Fever will still have the rights to Wallace.
“This has not been an easy decision for me, but one that I make knowing it is what is in my best interest at this time,” Wallace said in a statement. “I would like to thank the Fever organization for working with me throughout this process, giving me both time and consideration, and for their support of my decision. I look forward to cheering the team on from afar during this upcoming season.”
Wallace played the last two season with the Fever. In 2024, she started 15 games and averaged 4.7 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.
She is a native of Australia and played with the Australian women’s national team in the 2024 Olympics.
The Fever have had a busy offseason, adding three players with championship experience (DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard, and Sydney Colson). They also re-signed Kelsey Mitchell, who was a free agent.
The Fever finished 20-20 in 2024 and made the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
The Fever start their 2025 season on Saturday, May 17 against the Chicago Sky.
