Hamilton Southeastern guard named Indiana Miss Basketball
FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) — Hamilton Southeastern High School basketball star Maya Makalusky received a major honor on Wednesday.
The senior guard was named 2025 Indiana Miss Basketball.
Makalusky finished the year averaging 22.1 points per game. She also averaged 6.8 rebounds per game.
The IU signee was one of four finalists for the award. The other finalists were Columbia City’s Addi Baxter, Lawrence Central’s Jaylah Lampley and Noblesville’s Meredith Tippner.
Makalusky helped lead the Royals to a 27-1 overall record this season. They ultimately fell in the semi-state round of the tournament when they lost to Warsaw in an IHSAA 4A semi-state championship matchup.
The HSE Athletics Department shared a video on social media of the moment Makalusky learned she was Indiana Miss Basketball:
Makalusky is the second player from HSE to have ever been named Indiana Miss Basketball. Former Royal Sydney Parrish received the honor in 2020.
