The IMS Museum reopens April 2. Here’s when you can get tickets
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The wait to see the renovated Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum is almost over!
Fans will be able to buy general admission tickets for the IMS Museum at imsmuseum.org starting Tuesday, March 4.
The museum, which closed in November 2023 for a 16-month, $89 million renovation project, will reopen on April 2.
Museum and speedway leaders announced the project in July 2023 and promised fans that the building would reopen in time for the 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500 in 2025. With just 53 days between the museum’s grand reopening and the Indianapolis 500, race fans can consider it a promise kept.
“Everything on the inside is gonna be new, and it’s gonna tell the story of the ‘500,’” IMS Museum President Joe Hale told News 8 in 2023. “We talk about the epic drama of the Indy 500 — it’s really gonna tell that story in a much more entertaining and engaging way.”
The renovated museum will give fans an additional 40,000 square feet of interactive and educational exhibits, Indy 500-winning cars, and much, much more.
