Indy Eleven unveils jerseys for upcoming season
WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — Indy Eleven fans will not have to wait much longer for the team’s regular season to begin.
In fact, the Boys in Blue play their first regular season game in just over a month when they face Miami FC on the road March 15.
On Sunday, supporters got a first look at the jerseys that the players will be wearing in that match.
That’s because Indy Eleven held a jersey reveal at a “meet the team” event inside West Fork Whiskey Co. in Westfield, Ind.
“It’s incredible,” Indy Eleven midfielder Cam Lindley said. “Obviously, we had a lot of excitement last year. So the supporters are excited for what this team’s going to bring this upcoming year. So, an event like this is a great kickoff to hopefully a great season.”
Not only did fans have the chance to see the jerseys for the first time, they also had a chance to mingle with the players, get autographs, eat food and buy Indy Eleven gear at a tent for “The Shop.”
“The club just continues to grow every year,” Indy Eleven midfielder Jack Blake said. “And I think events like this just showcase the passion for it. People in the city, they absolutely love the team, so it’s great to feel that.”
Here’s a look a the jerseys for the upcoming year:
“I think they’re (the jerseys) incredible,” Indy Eleven head coach Sean McAuley said. “They look great. I think the line towards ‘The Shop’ is probably giving a good reflection of what people think about them because they look really good.”
McAuley is entering his second season as the club’s head coach.
Last year, the Boys in Blue earned the fourth seed in the USL Championship Eastern Conference Playoffs, before falling to Rhode Island FC in the first round.
“What I do know is the character of the players in the group and the people that they are, they’ll give everything they can for the club,” McAuley said.
