Fever, Katie Lou Samuelson mutually part ways
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indiana Fever announced on Monday that they are mutually parting ways with forward Katie Lou Samuelson.
Samuelson had one year remaining on her contract with a cap hit of $180,250.
She averaged 4.3 points per game and 2.3 rebounds per game in the 2024 season while shooting 33% from three-point range.
Samuelson has played five seasons in the WNBA, with all of them being with different teams. Her career average for points per game is 5.9
The Fever have had a busy offseason, adding four new players and re-signing one.
They have brought in DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard, Sophie Cunningham, and Sydney Colson, and re-signed Kelsey Mitchell.
Of the players they have added, they have a combined seven WNBA titles, bringing championship pedigree and experience to the Fever.
Samuelson is the second player the Fever have either waived or parted ways with. The Fever waived guard and former IU star Grace Berger on February 2.
The Fever went 20-20 and made it back to the postseason for the first time since 2016 in the 2024 season.
Their 2025 season tips off against the Chicago Sky at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Saturday, May 17.
