‘Pet Pals TV’: Getting to know the Irish Setter
Each and every week, “Pet Pals TV” shares a fun, interesting, and informative story about our-four legged and furry friend population.
On the latest “Pet Pals TV,” host Patty Spitler returns from knee replacement surgery! She joined three beautiful Irish setters, who are the mascots for St. Patrick’s Day.
Originating from Ireland, the Irish setter are hunting dogs that excel at finding and retrieving ground nesting birds. Another one of their great characteristics – or terrible if you can’t keep up with them – Irish setters are energetic dogs. Their love of running can mean they’ll need about two hours of exercise a day.
If you’re thinking about adopting an Irish setter into your family, know that they don’t need you to trim their silky coat. Make sure to give them lots of exercise and consider training for your dog.
