18-year-old arrested after shooting kills teen boy, wounds 2 in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WISH) — An 18-year-old man was arrested Friday in connection with a Thursday night shooting that left a 16-year-old boy dead, and another teen boy and a man injured, Fort Wayne police say.

Chase Watson of Fort Wayne, died at the shooting scene with multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide, the Allen County Coroner’s Office has ruled.

Additional information on the teen boy and the man who were injured had not been publicly shared as of midafternoon Friday.

Jaiden Landis was taken to the Allen County jail after his arrest. As of midafternoon Friday, his jail booking photo had not yet been shared on the jail’s website.

Police were called just before 9 p.m. Thursday to the shooting in the 3000 block of Pennsylvania Street. That’s in a residential area east of downtown Fort Wayne, and a few blocks west of the State Road 930 interchange at East Washington Boulevard.

The wounded boy and man were taken to a hospital. Their conditions were not immediately known, police said.
