INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Say your final farewell to “White Chicken Chili” because it’s one of 13 items The Cheesecake Factory is dropping from the menu.

While other restaurants like to keep their menus lean, The Cheesecake Factory is known for its massive, spiral-bound menu of more than 250 items.

Eliminating some dishes is nothing new for the 53-year-old chain. In fact, it’s part of a strategy to keep customers coming back — and it helps the company succeed where others, like TGI Fridays, have fallen short.

“We’ve changed the menu twice a year, every year, for 40 years,” founder David Overton said in a 2017 interview. “That’s what keeps people interested. And it keeps us current. We don’t rest on our laurels. There’s nothing that America wants to eat that can’t go on the Cheesecake Factory menu.”

To “keep current,” the chain is ditching 13 menu items:

  • Bistro Shrimp Pasta
  • Everything Flatbread Pizza
  • Factory Combinations
  • Fried Shrimp Platter
  • Loaded Mashed Potato Omelette
  • Mushroom Burger
  • Petite Filet
  • Seared Ahi Tuna Salad
  • SkinnyLicious Lemon Herb Parmesan Chicken
  • SkinnyLicious Spicy Shrimp Pasta
  • Spicy Cashew Chicken
  • Taco Dorados and Eggs
  • White Chicken Chili

As it says goodbye to White Chicken Chili and others, it’s adding nearly two dozen new food and cocktail items.. Notable additions include Asian Cucumber Salad, Chicken Shawarma, the Double Smash Cheeseburger, Yuzu Crush mocktail, and Japanese Whisky Sour.
